Turn a mountain of branches into a pile of chip in an afternoon

Done your own tree or hedge work and now facing a heap of branches that will not fit in the car, let alone the garden waste bin? Or running a farm, estate or building site that produces brash faster than it can be burnt or carted away? Branching Out brings a wood chipper and a trained operator to your site anywhere in Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy or Cheshire and turns the lot into chip in a fraction of the time.

Hiring a chipper on its own from a tool hire shop means collecting it, working out how to use it safely and returning it. With our service the operator does the feeding, keeps the machine running at its best and takes responsibility for safety, while you get on with something else. The chip can be left for you to use as mulch or path surfacing, or we can take it away.

It is a popular option for smallholders and farms after hedge laying or coppicing, for holiday parks and caravan sites after winter tidy-ups, for builders clearing plots, and for householders who have tackled a big garden clearance themselves.

How It Works

From first call to finished job

Simple, transparent and with no pressure at any stage.

1

Tell us the job

Describe roughly how much material there is, what it is and where it is. A photo of the pile helps us choose the right machine and crew.

2

Book a slot

We agree a half day or full day and confirm the price. For big piles we may suggest an extra operative to keep the chipper fed.

3

We chip

The operator sets up the chipper, feeds the material safely and directs the chip where you want it, keeping the site clear as they go.

4

Chip or clear

Leave the chip as a free, weed-suppressing mulch, or have us remove it. Either way the branches are gone.

Why Branching Out

Why book Branching Out rather than hiring a chipper yourself

Chippers are among the most dangerous machines on any site. A trained operator is safer, faster and usually cheaper once you count your own time.

Trained operator

Our operators use chippers every working day. They know how to feed awkward material safely and keep the machine working at full output.

Faster than you expect

A commercial chipper with an experienced crew will clear in an hour what would take a day with a hire-shop machine and a couple of helpers.

Nothing wasted

Chip makes excellent mulch for borders, surfacing for paths and bedding for animals. Chipping on site also cuts out tip runs and bonfires.

Where We Work

Chipper & Operator across Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire

We provide chipper and operator hire throughout Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire, from coastal gardens in Prestatyn, Rhyl and Llandudno to farms and estates in the Vale of Clwyd, the Clwydian Range, the Conwy valley and the Flintshire countryside around Mold, Northop and Caerwys.

Winter and early spring are our busiest chipping months, when hedge laying, coppicing and storm clean-ups leave big piles of brash across the region, so book early if you have a date in mind. We also work with other contractors, landscapers and groundworkers who need a chipper and crew on site for a day.

Chipper & Operator FAQs

Questions about hiring a chipper with an operator.

Our chipper takes material up to around 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter, which covers almost everything produced by hedge and tree work. Larger timber is better logged for firewood, and we can cut that for you at the same time.

Not really. Piles of loose brash are fine. It helps if the butt ends of the branches all face the same way and the pile is reasonably close to where the chipper can be parked, but our operator will sort it as they go.

Yes. Conifer chips well and the chip is fine for paths and around established shrubs, although it is best composted for a few months before being used around young plants.

Half a day. If you only have a small pile, it may be cheaper for us to simply remove it as part of a garden clearance, and we will tell you if that is the case.
