Privacy Notice
How we use your information when you visit this website or contact us. Last updated: 20 September 2026.
This notice sits alongside our full Data Protection (GDPR) Policy, which describes in detail how the business handles personal information.
Who we are
This website is operated by Branching Out Tree Surgery Landscaping & Gardening Ltd (“we”, “us”), 68 Ffordd Pennant, Meliden, Prestatyn, LL19 8PE. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us about privacy matters by emailing info@branchingouttreesurgery.uk or calling 07796 546252.
What we collect
This website does not have accounts or online forms. We only receive personal information when you choose to contact us, for example by telephone, WhatsApp, email or through our Facebook page. That information may include:
- Your name and contact details (telephone number, email address, postal address)
- Details of the property and the work you are asking about, including any photographs you send us
- Records of quotations, correspondence, invoices and payments
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange a site visit
- Prepare and send quotations, schedule work and deliver the services you have asked for
- Invoice you and keep the business and accounting records the law requires
- Meet our legal, regulatory and insurance obligations, including health and safety records
Our lawful bases for this are performance of a contract (or steps taken at your request before a contract), compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in running the business and responding to enquiries. We do not send marketing emails or texts, and we will not add you to any mailing list without asking.
Photographs of our work
We sometimes photograph completed jobs for our gallery and Facebook page. We do not identify customers or show house numbers, and if you would prefer that photographs of your property are not used, just tell us and we will not use them.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only where necessary to deliver the service or run the business, for example with our accountant, insurers, waste carriers or subcontractors working on your job, or where the law requires it.
Cookies and third-party content
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies of its own. Some pages embed content from third parties, such as our Facebook page feed on the News page and Google Fonts, and those services may set their own cookies or collect technical information such as your IP address when the content loads. Their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies: Meta (Facebook) and Google. You can block third-party cookies in your browser settings without affecting the rest of this site.
How long we keep information
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Records of work carried out, quotations and invoices are kept for six years after the end of the tax year to which they relate, as required for accounting and tax purposes. Health and safety records are kept for the periods set out in the relevant regulations.
Security
Personal information is held on password-protected devices and accounts with access limited to those who need it. Paper records are stored securely and disposed of confidentially. We do not store card details.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete it or restrict how we use it, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, email info@branchingouttreesurgery.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
