Vegetation Management
Roadside grass, verges and vegetation kept safe and under control
Roadside grass, verges, hedges and overhanging branches have to be kept in check for safety and visibility, and on private tracks, business sites and rural estates the same vegetation quickly makes access difficult and land untidy. Branching Out provides vegetation management, including regular roadside grass maintenance, for local authorities, highways and civil engineering contractors, utility companies, housing associations, farms and estates across Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire.
The work ranges from scheduled verge cutting through the growing season to one-off clearance of sight lines at junctions, signs and bends, cutting back hedges and trees from roads, lanes and rights of way, and controlling scrub on embankments, watercourses and around utility installations. Every job is planned with a site-specific risk assessment, high-visibility PPE and exclusion zones, and where work is on the public highway we arrange the necessary signage and traffic management.
Our five-strong team, tree surgery qualifications and our own chipper and cutting equipment mean we can take on anything from a single lane to a district-wide programme, and we are comfortable working under contract with the paperwork that involves.

Vegetation Management across Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire
We carry out vegetation management throughout Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire, from the coastal road network around Prestatyn, Rhyl, Abergele and Llandudno to the rural lanes of the Vale of Clwyd, the Clwydian Range, the Conwy valley and the Flintshire countryside between Mold, Holywell and Caerwys.
The growing season on the coast starts early and runs late, so verge programmes here typically need more cuts than inland, while the hedge-lined lanes around Denbigh, Ruthin, Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed need regular sight-line work to stay safe. We also look after access tracks and land around farms, quarries, solar farms and holiday parks across all four counties.

Vegetation Management FAQs

Yes. Where work affects the carriageway or footway we arrange the appropriate signage and traffic management and work to the relevant safety codes. For council-owned roads the local authority is usually the client or must give permission, and we can help with that.
For safety, sight lines at junctions and bends are typically cut two to four times a season, with a full-width cut once or twice a year. Rural verges are often cut less to benefit wildflowers, and we can work to a council or estate’s biodiversity plan.
We clear vegetation around utility sites and access routes and work near overhead lines within the required safe distances. Cutting trees in direct contact with live lines is specialist work carried out by or with the network operator, and we will tell you when that applies.
Yes. Scheduled programmes for the growing season, or year-round contracts that include winter hedge and tree work, are exactly what our team is set up for. We provide a written specification and fixed pricing.
