Qualified tree surgery for homes, businesses and estates across North Wales

Mature trees are part of what makes Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire such good places to live, but they need skilled care. Branches grow over roofs and roads, deadwood builds up in the crown, storms leave limbs hanging, and a tree that was the right size twenty years ago can start to overwhelm a garden. Branching Out provides professional tree surgery from our base in Prestatyn, giving you a local, qualified and fully insured team without the call-out costs of a contractor travelling from Chester or Manchester.

Gareth Jones holds City & Guilds NPTC certificates in chainsaw operation, tree climbing and aerial rescue, and every job is planned with a site visit, a written quote and a risk assessment before a rope goes in the tree. Whether you need a single limb removed over a conservatory in Rhyl, a row of limes pruned on a business park in Deeside or a veteran oak inspected on a farm near Llanrwst, you get the same careful, tidy approach.

We work for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, schools, churches, holiday parks, housing associations and local authorities, and we are happy to provide our insurance details and policies for any contract.

  • Deadwood removal and safety pruning over gardens, paths, roads and play areas
  • Crown lifting to raise the canopy above drives, lawns, pavements and buildings

  • Removal of damaged, crossing, diseased or storm-broken limbs
  • Sectional dismantling of trees in tight spaces, using ropes and rigging
  • Clearance from roofs, gutters, telephone lines and street lights
  • Formative pruning of young trees and fruit tree pruning

How It Works

From first call to finished job

Simple, transparent and with no pressure at any stage.

1

Free site visit

Call, WhatsApp or email us with a few details and a photo. We visit at a time that suits you, look at the tree and the access, and talk through the options.

2

Written quote

You receive a clear written quote covering exactly what will be done, how the waste will be dealt with and when we can do it. No pressure, no obligation.

3

The work

On the day we set up exclusion zones, protect lawns and paving, and carry out the work to the agreed specification using the right climbing, cutting and rigging techniques.

4

Tidy finish

Brash is chipped, timber is logged or removed as agreed, and we sweep and rake before we leave. You should only be able to tell we have been by looking up.

Where We Work

Tree Surgery across Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire

From Prestatyn we can be in Rhyl, Rhuddlan or Dyserth in minutes, across to Holywell, Flint and Mold on the Flintshire side within half an hour, and along the coast to Abergele, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno just as quickly. That makes a real difference on emergency call-outs, and it keeps our travel costs, and your quote, down.

We know the local trees too: the wind-shaped sycamores and pines along the coast, the big beeches and limes in the older parts of St Asaph and Denbigh, the oaks and ashes of the Vale of Clwyd and the Conwy valley, and the fast-growing leylandii that cause so many disputes on newer estates. If a tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order or stands in one of the many conservation areas in Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy or Cheshire, we will tell you and can handle the application to the council for you.

Only if the tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order or is in a conservation area. Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Cheshire councils all keep registers, and we can check for you. If permission is needed we can prepare and submit the application, which usually takes six to eight weeks.

Most pruning can be done at any time, but late winter is ideal for many species, and we avoid heavy work on trees with active bird nests between March and August. Fruit trees, cherries and plums have their own best times, and we will advise when we visit.

Yes, unless you want to keep it. Brash is chipped on site and removed, and timber is either logged for you or taken away. Removal is included in our quote so there are no surprises.

Yes. We carry public liability insurance and use rigging to lower sections where there is any risk to buildings, fences or neighbouring gardens. We are happy to show you our certificate before work starts.
